dc.description.abstractA field experiment was conducted from rabi 2019-20 to kharif 2021 at the newlineExperimental Farm of Department of Agronomy, CSK Himachal Pradesh Krishi newlineVishvavidyalaya, Palampur (H.P.) to study the effect of tillage, organic and inorganic newlinenutrient sources on growth, yield, economics, nutrient uptake and soil properties in newlinemustard- soybean cropping system. The experiment comprised of twelve treatment newlinecombinations which included three tillage practices (zero tillage, reduced tillage and newlineconventional tillage) and four organic and inorganic nutrient sources (75 and 100 % newlinerecommended dose of nitrogen through FYM and 75 and 100 % recommended dose newlineof fertilizer) which were tested in split plot design with tillage practices in main plots newlineand different nutrient sources in sub plots. The soil of the experimental site was silty newlineclay loam in texture, acidic in reaction and medium in available nitrogen, phosphorus newlineand potassium. Results revealed that significantly higher values of growth, yield newlineattributes, yield, nutrient content and uptake and economics of mustard- soybean newlinecropping system were recorded under reduced tillage and 100 per cent recommended newlinedose of fertilizers, respectively. Higher bulk density and particle density were newlinerecorded under zero tillage and 100 per cent recommended dose of fertilizers, newlinerespectively. However, water holding capacity, organic carbon, available nitrogen, newlinephosphorus and potassium were significantly higher under reduced tillage and 100 per newlinecent recommended dose of nitrogen through FYM, respectively. Reduced tillage and newline100 per cent recommended dose of fertilizers were found to be the best treatments for newlinebetter growth and higher productivity and profitability of mustard-soybean cropping newlinesystem.
