Abstract: newline This study focuses on the workplace spirituality and its role in managing the stress among employees with reference to Information Technology (IT) organizations. This study investigates the association between the workplace spirituality and the work stress level among IT professionals. Organizations globally have witnessed the exponential rise in the area of workplace spirituality and its associated outcomes. Despite various studies related to workplace spirituality and different employee attitudes, there is a lack of empirical study related to workplace spirituality and the stress. With the advent of modern technology and cut throat competition in today s era of globalization, Information Technology organizations have been facing drastic changes in their working environment which poses huge challenges among workforce. In order to sustain in highly volatile changing environment, employees in the IT organizations have been facing huge pressure due to work load and long irregular working hours due to which they are more prone to experience high stress at workplace which could adversely affect their well-being. The problem of stress has been inevitably growing in the IT industry which requires a new intervention to manage it. Keeping in mind, the relevance of workplace spirituality in the employee stress management, researcher in the present study has investigated the association between the workplace spirituality and the work stress level among IT professionals and has tried to explore the role of workplace spirituality in reducing stress among employees. The main aim of the research is to explore the understanding about four dimensions of workplace spirituality meaningful work, sense of community, mindfulness and spiritual connection among IT professionals and their role in managing the stress level among them. 263 respondents working in top most IT organizations of Pune region of Maharashtra, India were selected for obtaining responses by employing structured questionnaire.
