Abstract: | The present study is focused on the evaluation of theoretical pile load newlinesettlement based on different approaches and analyzed the elimination of actual pile newlineload test, which is costly and time consuming. The design of the tall building is newlinenecessary for the assessment with the base foundation requirements and techniques so newlinethat the ultimate load can be transferred to the subsoil and to make the tall buildings newlinesafe against all static loadings. A Critical analysis has been made using various newlinetheoretical, experimental and software approaches to obtain theoretical pile load newlinesettlement for tall buildings under multiple soil strata. The various studies that claim newlinethat actual pile settlement is equivalent to theoretical pile settlement, an experimental newlineinvestigation has been performed. The actual pile load tests were performed at 15 th newlinebattalion, SAS, Indore over an area of 6 hact. on eleven bore holes with 13.00 m at newlineshallow depth. Soil samples were collected for all bores and complete investigation newlinewas made to understand the type of soil. Corrected STP-N values were analyzed newlinethrough geotechnical investigation reports done at site. Modulus of elasticity of soil newlineand pile material was evaluated by using corrected STP-N values and decided grade newlineof pile concrete respectively. Pile stiffness and settlement influence factors were newlinecalculated by using model graph. Actual and theoretical settlement values were newlinedetermined on different load range varies from 0 to 150 Tons. Finally a conclusive newlinetable for all value prediction models for different given SPT-N were used to establish newlinea correlation. Result shows that there is a positive correlation between theoretical and newlineactual settlement values and with the application of increment constant, actual newlinesettlement is equal to theoretical settlement with accuracy for CL and CI soil values. |
