Abstract: seabania grandiflora is rare and medicinally important plant belong to the family newlinefabaceae medicinal plants continue to be a source of raw drug in ayurvedic preparations newlineand for folk medicines in the present work the phytochemicals are extracted from sesbania newlinegrandiflora leaves using solvents viz petroleum ether chloroform methanol ethanol and newlineacetone the study revealed the presence of alkaloids terpenoids saponins flavonoids newlinephenols glycosides tannins anthraquinones and steroids in the extract presence of the newlinenutrients like protein lipid and carbohydrates were also observed as methanolic extracts was newlinefound to be rich in important phytochemicals further pharmacological evaluations were done newlineusing this extract newline newline
