Abstract: Real-time systems (RTS) refer to those computing systems designed to operate in real time and they need to ensure that tasks are executed within specific time constraints. Both logical correctness and timing of created results are crucial factors of the correctness of such systems. Real-time systems are considered to be a distinguished class of systems and their importance increased noticeably. The growing importance has resulted in an increase in the volumes of data processed by those systems and an increase in the requirements for data durability, security, and consistency which, in turn has led to the necessity of developing systems that combine the features of real-time systems and database systems. All this has resulted in the creation of real-time database systems (RTDBSs). newlineRTDBSs have become very popular and widely used in the last two decades. They are used in a wide variety of applications like banking, stock markets, telephone switching systems, reservation systems, military command and control management, etc. They are used to process time constrained data and transactions in many of those applications. It can be said that the objective of real-time database use is dependent on logical computation as well as on data and transaction timing constraints. A real-time database system (RTDBS) provides features like data independence and concurrency control. It also enforces real-time constraints imposed by applications at the same time. It serves as a data repository, provides storage, and performs information manipulation and retrieval, and at the same time it must maintain some level of confidence in meeting the timing requirements. Unlike a traditional database system, a RTDBS can be evaluated based on how often the deadlines of the transactions are missed, the average tardiness or lateness of late transactions, the cost of late transactions, and data external and temporal consistency. newlineXV newlineConcurrency control, which refers to the process of coordinating actions of transactions that access shared data simul
