dc.description.abstractThe objective of this study is to find factors affecting retention for the hotel employees of four and five star hotels in eighteen cities of Gujarat state namely Ahmedabad, Anand, Ankleshwar, Bhavnagar, Bhuj, Dwarka, Gandhidham, Gandhinagar, Kandla, Mehsana, Mundra, Nadiad, Rajkot, Saputara, Sasangir, Somnath, Surat, Vadodara. After doing for a detailed literature review, the researcher selected 14 variables, i.e., Pay scale, Salary, Compensation, Rewards and recognition, Promotion and career development, Leadership and participation in decision making, Work-Life Balance, Job Satisfaction, Training Skill and Knowledge, Co-Worker Interaction, Job Security, Employee engagement, Communication and motivation, Organization Brand Image, Organizational Commitment to measure job satisfaction. Data was collected through filling up questionnaires from 304 hotel employees working in four and five star hotels in eighteen cities of Gujarat state. In the exploratory and descriptive is used as a drive of the study to find and analyze the data. newline newlineStructural Equation Model is used to test the hypothesis. The 11 variables were studied to measure the retention intention through job satisfaction and organizational commitment. By considering the significance value 07 variables are significant and the following 04 variables are not significant namely, Work Life Balance, Co-Worker Interaction, Training Skill and Knowledge and Communication and Motivation. R-Square value in .544 which shows 54.4 % variance is explained by independent variables, goodness-of-fit measure for linear regression models. This statistic indicates the percentage of the variance in the dependent variable that the independent variables explain collectively. newline newlineThis study would be helpful for hotels management and research scholars to retain employees. newline
