dc.description.abstract | In today s scenario, it is difficult to imagine an issue more important to society than innovation (Schumpeter, 1942; Drucker, 2006). For firms to remain competitive in a dynamic, complex and uncertain environment, they need to continuously improve their systems and processes and introduce new products in the market. As creative and innovative ideas reside in the minds of employees, organizations need to align employee behaviour with their strategic goals of innovation. An employee is said to be engaged in innovativework behaviour when he or she intentionally introduces and applies a new idea, method, or practice (Anderson et al, 2004). The study of what motivates an individual to engage in innovative behavior at the workplace becomes critical. Inter alia, examining the role of human resource management in enhancing innovative behavior at work is of primary importance. newline | |
