Abstract: This study entitled Empowerment of women in relation to socio-economic status, level of education and emotional intelligence was conducted following Causal Comparative and Correlational method with the following objectives: newline(1) To find out the level of women empowerment at three levels of education (L.O.E) i.e. school education, graduation and post graduation of women belonging to Cuttack Municipal area. (2) To find out the level of women empowerment at three levels of Socio-economic status(S.E.S) i.e. low, medium and high of women belonging to the same area. (3)To find out the level of women empowerment at three levels of emotional intelligence(E.I.) i.e. low, medium, high of the same group. (4 )To determine the influence of level of education, socio-economic, status and emotional intelligence and their various interactions on empowerment of women . (5) To determine the joint contribution of level of education, socio-economic status and emotional intelligence in predicting empowerment of women of Cuttack Municipal Area. (6)To determine the individual contribution of level of education, socio-economic status and emotional intelligence in predicting empowerment of women of Cuttack Municipal Area. newlineWhen women empowerment is the dependent variable in the study, the independent variables are Socio-economic status, level of education and emotional intelligence. The study was conducted on 320 women of Cuttack Municipal Area following Stratified random sampling procedure. The participants in the study have been classified under three levels of education, socio-economic status and emotional intelligence. Two standardized scales were used for the collection of data i.e. one on Emotional Intelligence Scale developed by Srinivasan and Murugesan and Socioeconomic Status Scale developed by Singh et.
