Abstract

Women s status in India has undergone visible drastic changes, which both newlinedelight and concern at the same time. Starting with the fight to obtain basic education, newlinewomen have come a long way and today they are vying for space with men in almost newlineevery field. While this is indeed an achievement, it has brought up its own set of issues newlinetoo. Women in workforce have added professional requirements to their existing newlinedomestic requirements and they find themselves doubly burdened when compared to newlinetheir counterparts at work. Even in the glamourous Information Technology field, newlinewhich provided a wide range of jobs for women in India, there continues the need to be newlineempathetic towards women employees in many respects.
