Abstract: Work related stress has steadily caught the consideration of both practitioners and researchers particularly in developed nations. Stress is any power that pushes a psychological or actual factor in front of its scope of dependability, creating a strain inside the person. Banking psychology is concerned with the investigation of human conduct in those parts of life that identify with the new innovations, financial crisis, new policies, consumer loyalty, accepting and protecting of public cash and loaning it to others for a excess benefit. Presently banking has more extensive regions of tasks, like business of exchanging data identified with clients, cash, market and risk- reducing. Stress can influence workers at different levels with various issues. These issues influence authoritative execution by causing low efficiency and high turnover of staff. The current research centres on a factor that causes stress for workers in the banking sector and techniques embraced by banks for relieving the stress and finally to improve employee performance and guarantee work satisfaction.The main objective of the research was to identify the causes of stress and its impact on bank employees. Based on the literature review, a gap was identified that tool has not yet been developed to assess the stress of Gujarat states bank employees so to fulfil this gap a tool was developed here same like questionnaire. As a first step, published literature related to the above discussed research questions were reviewed which gave an in depth knowledge about the stressors, impacts and stress coping strategies used in Banks. Review of literature helped in developing the tool of the study.Before examining the reliability and validity of the questionnaire a small pilot study was undertaken of 60 bank employees. Based on the input from the respondents, a few questions were eliminated and some were added and a structured questionnaire was developed.
