Abstract: | The acoustic and thermodynamic properties of liquid mixtures are used to study the molecular interactions between the components in the liquid mixtures. The coefficient of viscosity measurements of the liquid and liquid mixture is used to analyze the physico-chemical nature of the liquid mixtures. The study of molecular interactions in liquid mixtures is of great significance for elucidating the structural properties of molecules because these interactions affect the structural arrangement of molecules. newlineThe estimation of speed of sound in combination of two liquidsis useful in biomedical research, medical imaging which requires ultrasonic waves to propagate without greatly attenuating the signal. In the chemical industry, many chemical engineering calculations involving chemical separation, fluid flow, heat and mass transfer require the density, coefficient of viscosity, and thermodynamic properties of multi-component mixtures containing non-electrolyte solutions. The excess/deviation parameters of combination of liquid mixtures are useful in understanding the nature and strength of interactions in the mixtures. newlineGreen solvents were developed as more environmentally friendly alternatives to petrochemical solvents. Furfuryl alcohol is produced from waste vegetable materials such as sugar cane bagasse, oat hulls, corn cobs and rice hulls and hence it is considered as green chemical.Furfuryl alcohol has been chosen as the main component in the present study because of its several uses. The remarkable properties of this chemical, such as low coefficient of viscosity, high reactivity and excellent solvent characteristics have led to success in other fields. newlineThe objective of the present investigation is to study the thermodynamic and thermoacoustic properties, theoretical computation of speeds of ultrasound, density and coefficient of viscosities in combination of two liquids of, System-I: furfuryl alcohol + glycols(ethylene, diethylene and triethylene), |
