In the modern era wireless Sensor Networks have emerged as a latest area of research in the wide zone of wireless computer networking. Research enthusiasm in WSNs has been boosted by the exceptionally advances taken place recently in the micro electro mechanical systems and the wireless communications technology which helped in producing low cost small sized sensors with wireless networking capabilities. In the future we can expect WSNs to be ubiquitous with broad deployment both in the commercial as well as military sector. newlineWith the help of WSNs researchers believe to develop a vast arrangement of futuristic applications. Specifically they think that WSNs will bring revolution in the manner in which humans interact with their physical conditions. Few examples of these kinds of applications incorporate military applications e.g. friendly hostile forces tracking battlefield surveillance equipment monitoring of environment e.g. space exploration flood forest fire detection biological attack detection health applications e.g. diagnostics integrated patient monitoring tracking and monitoring doctors and patients inside a hospital and numerous other commercial applications e.g. home office smart conditions environmental monitoring in buildings. newlineWireless ad hoc Sensor Networks are a broadly unexplored region. The present point of research is primarily focused towards the under mention topics newlineDistributed aggregation applications newlineDevelopment of distributed middleware architectures for WSNs newlinePower energy efficient routing for WSNs newlineDesign of cross layer algorithms for improved power efficiency newline newline
