Abstract: | The present doctoral thesis work mainly focuses on the synthesis of new series of urea; newlinepiperazine and triazolo-pyrazine derivatives with quantitative yield by using isocyanate and newlinedifferent types of amine compounds. The structures of all the synthesized derivatives were newlineconfirmed using IR, 1HNMR, 13CNMR and mass spectrometry techniques. In addition newlinestructures of few derivatives were established by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. newlineThe synthesized derivatives were evaluated against five bacterial [one gram-positive newline(Staphylococcus aureus) and four gram-negative (Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas newlineaeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumonia, and Acinetobacter baumannii)] and two fungi (Candida newlinealbicans and Cryptococcus neoformans) strains. Based on the biological evaluation results, newlineurea, piperazine and triazolo-pyrazine derivatives showed promising inhibition of newlineantimicrobial growth towards the tested microbial stains. Finally, molecular docking was newlineused to understand the mechanism of antimicrobial activity and to clarify the intermolecular newlinehydrogen bonding of the compounds to elucidate new information for further structural newlineoptimization. newline |
