Abstract: and#304;t has always been a daunting task to feed the remotest areas away from the Main newlinepower grid especially in the so called Stand Alone rural context. Presently the newlineusual practice prevalent is to provide energy to such places using diesel generators. newlineWith the rapid progression in renewable energy source (RES) technologies, it newlineseems more feasible and cost-effective to switch over from the currently prevalent newlinediesel engine to the former to supply local power so other than the grid power. newlineThis thesis primarily stresses on the increased percentage of renewable energy on newlineone hand and the advantages of having clean and green energy on the other. The newlineprime focus is the usage of electricity for feeding isolated loads which would lead newlineto a pollution free atmosphere. The work tries to emphasize the concept of Smart newlineGrid through Renewable Energy Sources. The concept mainly envisages the newlinescenario when a sizable percentage of loads are used in such a manner that a twoway newlinepower flow can be established which results in a much smarter and hence newlineefficient usage of the electrical energy. newlineEfficient and judicious usage of Smart the Grid concept when combined with newlinerenewable energy, can serve an efficient and cost effective method of providing newlineenergy at far-off places. The present work considers the connected difficulties in newlinethe usage of RESs like their sporadic nature and also the reduction of Inertia of the newlinesystem due to the power electronic components. Thus the need of the hour is to newlinedevelop an Integrated controller unit to tackle these issues. This Integrated newlinecontroller will be assigned with the twin jobs of maintaining the system stability to newlineensure clean quality energy to the customers and making an optimized usage of the newlineresources while delivering energy. This thesis focuses on the design of that newlineIntegrated controller which may achieve the combined targets of stability and newlineoptimality. The energy management system (EMS) making use of Wind/PV/Energy newlineStorage System/DG will be considered in the thesis. Thus the thesis attempts to newlinev newline
