Evaluation of the strength of the backscattered and#64257;eld reand#64258;ected from the target at certain newlineangle of presence (or within entire angular span) can be calculated from the target to the newlineobservation point and vice versa. As far as radar surveillance is concerned, this newlinebackscattered and#64257;eld is referred as Radar Cross Section (RCS). Measurement and newlinedetermination of RCS is particularly relevant for military applications worldwide. Received newlinebackscattered echo by the radar decides its maximum operational range and shows newlinedetectability and track ability of the target. There is also an attempt is performed to reduce newlineRCS of many applications such as: aircrafts, ships, missiles, etc. Conversely, in the newlineautomotive industry, understanding the RCS of cars contributes to development and newlineimplementation of adaptive cruise control systems. Advanced vehicle crash warning newlinedevices for cars to avoid or minimize vehicle accidents. newlineIn this work, first the background and theory of the RADAR and RCS reduction newlinesystem is discussed briefly first. Several techniques of the antenna RCS reduction systems newlineis discussed and analyzed. Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) and Complementary Split newlineRing Resonator techniques are investigated in this work. Further, developed unit cell array newlineof these structures is employed in the antenna system for RCS reduction, enhance the gain newlineand bandwidth. Whole carried out work is divided into two sections based on the RCS newlinetechnique used. newlineFirstly, a compact wideband circularly polarized slot antenna is proposed in this newlinedirection, which is constructing of two L-shaped resonators. To increase the antenna s gain newlineand to decrease the profile the slot antenna is loaded with a band-stop (FSS) reflector. The newlineFSS loaded slot antenna s radiation and scattering features are compared with the metallic newlinereflector loaded slot antenna.
