Under the NHM Flagship Program two sub programs e.g., newlineNational Rural Health Mission (NRHM) for rural India and National Urban Health newlineMission (NUHM) for urban India is in operational. The program is based on newlineresponsible, innovative and comprehensive strategies for providing funds, creating newlinenew institutions, decentralization and providing new ideas and resources for health. newlineThe stated aim of the NRHM was to provide accessible, affordable and accountable newlinequality services to rural population with concentration on 18 Special Focus States newlineand the poorand the vulnerable population of the country. newline
