Abstract: SAdenosylLmethionine SAMe participates in a variety of newlineenzymatic group transfer reactions mainly as a donor of methyl groups in newlinetransmethylation reaction and as a source of the propylamino group in newlinespermine formation Although SAMe has been synthesized chemically and newlineenzymatically it is most readily available by direct isolation from yeasts newlinecultured on methionine enriched medium newlineIn this study we screened the SAMe producing yeasts and newlineconstructed a recombinant Pichia pastoris P pastoris harboring the newlineSaccharomyces cerevisiae SAM2 synthetase gene Multiple copies of this newlinegene were integrated into P pastoris using both constitutive and inducible newlineintracellular expression vectors newline newline
