Abstract: | ABSTRACT newlineToday, we are in need to take efforts to manage HTN with proper antihypertensive medications along with effective strategies. This study Effect of Collaborative Nursing Intervention (CNI) on blood pressure, stress, quality of life and biochemical variables among hypertensive patient. The methodology adopted for this study was based on quantitative approach and quasi experimental design. The investigator selected CNI through dietary supplement of crushed raw garlic 5 grams per day and yoga practices for 30 minutes at morning up to two months. In each group 116 hypertensive patients. The data collection procedure started with control group alone to avoid the contamination of CNI. After completion of pretest, the posttest 1(30th day) was conducted on BP, stress, QoL except biochemical variables and posttest 2 (60th day) was conducted as like pretest. After that experimental group patients were enrolled for data collection and implemented the CNI effectively along with the pamphlets. The major findings reveals that the effect of CNI in experimental group in SBP reduction 5.7 mm of Hg, DBP 4.4 In Stress reduction score 6.3 Symptoms of stress score 11.6, QoL gain score 10.6 and in Biochemical variables: reduction in TC was 5.75mg/dl, TGL 4.42 mgs/dl, LDL 4.38 mgs/dl and HDL gain score was 3.75 mgs/dl Correlation findings showed that stress, symptoms of stress and QoL showed that significant positive correlation at p = 0.001, stress and SBP, DBP, HDL, symptoms of stress and SBP, DBP, HDL showed that significant moderately positive correlation at p = 0.01. Association between demographic variables and SBP, DBP, stress, symptoms of stress reduction score, QoL, HDL gain score among experimental group in posttest 2 findings stated that there was statistically significant association with the demographic variables. Conclusion: CNI can be recommended as important adjunct intervention along with pharmacological treatments to improve health status of the hypertensive patients. newline newline |
