Abstract: This thesis deals with research in the field of Micro-DoppleraSignature based automatic radar based aerial target recognition framework which supplements in general to radar based target recognition methodology. The research based on micro-Doppler contributes to two distinctive fields: time-frequency based analysis of the signatures; and comparison of different classification techniques which includes study indicating the similarity between High Range Resolution Profile and micro-Doppler signatures. This research assists in general radar based target recognition by proposing key features required for recognition of aerial target such as helicopters or air launched cruise missile. newline
