Abstract: Introduction: Lack of understanding in neuro and electrophysiology are significant barriers among physical education teachers often make it challenging for basic sEMG signal interpretation. Despite the importance, few studies on exercise induced muscle fatigue in adolescent boys are available, which makes it difficult to understand the neuromuscular components of pediatric muscle fatigue. We also have limited understanding about the effect of yogic practices and pranayama on fatigue induced temporal sEMG signal specific response of core muscle among adolescent boys/school going children. newlineAim: To study the effect of yogic training on core muscle [Rectus Abdominis (RA), External Oblique Abdominis (EO), Erector Spinae (ES)] electromyography signal characteristics using different sEMG parameters (sEMG time and frequency domain) of in adolescent boys. newlineMaterials and methods: To conduct this study 30 adolescent boys with height 148±10 cm, weight 39±10 kg. age between 12 to 14 years from Ram Krishna Vidya Mandir Ashrama -Sharada Balgram, Gwalior (M.P.) were randomly selected. They were assigned [15 boys in yogic intervention group, 15 boys in control] to the respective yoga training (specifically designed to improve core musculature endurance or holding capacity and divided into Asanas, Bandha, Kriya and Pranayama) for 3 months, 3 days in a week voluntarily. The duration of Yogic Protocol was 12 Weeks. Core muscle fatigue responses were measured through sEMG during initial stage, after 1st Phase (6 Week) and 2nd Phase (12 Weeks). The sEMG signal alteration of external oblique, rectus abdominis, erector spinae muscles during a fatiguing plank were analyzed. Intraclass Correlation Coefficient was used for reliability assessment. Two-way repeated measures ANOVA was used to test the statistical significance of yogic training on task time and electromyography parameters of the global core muscle between control and experimental group.
