Abstract: Language is a means of communication. Human civilization has been possible only through language. English language is regarded as a world language in comparing with other languages. English is the language which is spoken widely. One person can survive in all over the world with the help of English language. Language acquisition is a process of human in acquiring the language to communicate. Language acquisition usually refers to First language acquisition and second language acquisition. First language Acquisition refers to a learner learning his native language. Second language Acquisition refers to a learner learning of second language along with native language. Language acquisition is successful when the learner learns the second language using the tools including Phonology, Morphology, Syntax, Semantics and Vocabulary. There is a lot of difference between the first and second languages. The learning of first language is a natural process. On the other hand, the second language cannot be acquired naturally, but it should be taught. English Language teaching enables the students to learn listening, reading, writing and speaking in English. English Language Teaching is based on the idea that the language acquisition is communicative competence. The main aim of English Language Teaching is to teach the learner to use the language correctly and appropriately. newlineThe Psychological aspect of second language learning was Brain maturation, area of the people from where they have emerged. Another psychological aspect is family background of the learners and lack of motivation. Motivation leads them to learn second language successfully. Learner s perception is very much needed in second language learning. Every day the English as a Second Language teachers make many decisions in their classrooms about the language teaching and learning process.
