dc.description.abstract | Typha domingensis Pers. is one of the most abundantly found aquatic weeds. For centuries, there has been research pertaining to its medicinal and non-medicinal newlineuses. However, the wound healing potentials of T. domingensis Pers. has been less explored scientifically. Thus, the present study was initiated to explore the wound newlinehealing potentials of T. domingensis Pers. newlineThe aqueous crude extract was prepared using inflorescence of T. domingensis Pers. Further, qualitative and quantitative phytochemicals analysis was newlinecarried out from the crude extract. Additionally, the aqueous extract was assessed for toxicity using MTT assay and Chromosomal aberration assay. The in vitro studies newlinewere carried out by antioxidant, hemostatic, antimicrobial and angiogenic assays. For the in vivo studies, the healthy albino Wistar rats were selected as wound newlinemodels. The induced wounds (Excision, Incision and Burn) were treated with ointment prepared from the aqueous crude inflorescence extract daily, until the newlinewounds healed completely. Various wound healing parameters such as percentage wound contraction, epithelization period, content of hydroxyproline; protein and newlinecatalase were measured from the excised skin tissue, collected on 7th day and 14th day of post wound. Additionally, the histopathological studies were also assessed. newlineFurther, the inflorescence crude extract was subjected to LC-MS metabolite profiling. Molecular docking of the phytocompounds was carried out against selected wound newlinehealing biomarkers. The scratch assay was carried out for the selected compounds obtained after molecular docking. newline newline | |
