The thesis focuses on the two models of education, namely, inclusive and segregated, and strives to assess their respective advantages and limitations vis-à-vis Children with Special Needs (CWSN). The main objective of the study is to evaluate School Adjustment, Social Competence and Academic Achievement of the CWSN in inclusive and segregated schools located in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. The findings of the study suggest that the model advocating segregation exhibited more benefits as compared to the inclusive model. However, it also became clear that the main reason for this seemed to be the poor implementation of the inclusive educational structure, rather than any inherent flaws in the inclusive model. Thus, it is essential that the Inclusive schools must identify and recognize the needs of each child in order to make the school environment welcoming for all. newline
