Self compassion is a relatively new concept in Western psychology and plays a significant role in fostering well being. However, it is a central and an ancient concept in Buddhism and one s of the world s primitive wisdom traditions (Brach, 2003). Self compassionate attitude can be useful in dealing with day to day stressors as well as major stressful events. There has been plethora of research conducted on Self compassion in the recent decade as it is an important area of research. Adolescence is considered to be one of the most vital and critical stages in one s life span. It is marked by increased vulnerability to psychological distress and anxiety. Hence, adolescence is an ideal period for early mental health interventions and improvement of psychological well being (Xavier, Cunha and Pinto- Gouveia, 2015). Although adolescents deal with the same stressors of family life, school and activities as their younger counterparts, but undergo rapid physiological, cognitive and psychosocial changes which are imperative of this stage of development. Early interventions and promotion of effective health techniques can shield the adolescents from personal distress (Patel, Flisher, HetrickandMcGorry, 2007).The present investigation was conducted to study the relationship of Self-Compassion with Flourishing, Resilience, Self-Efficacy, Perceived Stress, Happiness and Coping Styles among adolescents. The results of the study revealed that Total Self Compassion was significantly and positively related to Self-Judgment, Common Humanity, Isolation, Mindfulness, Over Identification, Flourishing, Happiness, Problem Focused Engagement Coping and Total Engagement Coping. Additionally, Self-Compassion was significantly and negatively related to Perceived Stress and Problem Focused Disengagement Coping. Along with this, gender differences were also explored. Female adolescents scored higher than male adolescents on Flourishing, Perceived stress, Resilience, Emotion Focused Engagement Coping and Total Engagement Coping.
