Abstract: Sesbania genus belongs to the Fabaceae family, which is found in tropical and subtropical parts of the world. Members of this family includeSesbania cannabina, Sesbania aculeata, Sesbania drummondii, Sesbania grandiflora, Sesbania rostrata, Sesbania roxburghii and Sesbania speciosa. The objective of this study is Pharmacognostical, phytochemical and pharmacological evaluation of plants of Sesbania genus from India. newlineIn the present study Sesbania cannabina, Sesbania sesban and Sesban grandiflora plants were selected for study according to the literature survey. All these plants are not explored much in detail about its pharmacognostic and phytochemical investigation. Many researchers have studied these plants for its pharmacological potentials only. All three plants leaf were collected and authenticated and dried for further use. Macroscopic and microscopic evaluation, extraction, isolation and characterization of phytochemicals as well as an in-vivo anti-inflammatory, in-vitro antioxidant and anticancer investigation of phytoactive extracts from the leaves of Sesbania cannabina, Sesbania sesban and Sesbania grandiflora was performed. Organoleptic characters, extra feature and macroscopical details of all parts of plant were carried out using standard procedures. The microscopical characters such as transverse sections and powder characters were studied. The powder of leaves of Sesbania cannabina, Sesbania sesban and Sesbania grandiflora was subjected to evaluate its foreign organic matter, moisture content, total ash value, water-soluble ash value, acid-insoluble ash value, water-soluble extractive value, alcohol soluble extractive value. The powder of leaf was subjected to extraction with methanol first and then the methanol extract was further subjected to n-butanol sovent and fractionation was done. N-butanol extracts confirms different secondary metabolites like flavonoids, Glycoside, tannins, saponins and phenolic compounds. Moreover, the TLC of flavonoid, saponins and glycosides was well resolved and indicat
