Abstract: The present research work was aimed at making a critical analysis of medicinal plants used by two Indian traditions that is and#256;yurveda tradition represented here by Mand#257;dhava Cikitsand#257; (Mand#257; Ci), an ancient Sanskrit medical text with allied literature and the Ethnomedicinal tradition that is represented here by ethnomedicines utilized in Ahmednagar district; where both traditions inform medicinal plants for the treatment of three selected human diseases/disorders that is Jvara or fever, Atisand#257;ra or Diarrhoea and Pand#257;and#7751;and#7693;u-Kand#257;maland#257; or Anaemia-jaundice. The study included the proper botanical identification of the plants described in the texts, analysis of the clinical data surveyed from and#256;yurveda practitioners in the district and the field study data from the ethnomedicinal surveys carried out in the district to understand the present status, pharmacognostic characterization, extraction and identification of phytocompounds from the select representatives of locally available medicinal plants. The qualitative phytochemical testing, LC-MS analysis of plant extracts and searching through modern tools like in-silico software about the strength of druglike-ness of phytocompounds against the select diseases as per the objectives and hypotheses proposed at the start of research, and thus to verify the claims made by traditional medicinal practitioners, both and#256;yurveda and the ethnic people, with the help of the representative plants open newer possibilities in future drug formulations. newlineHYPOTHESES CONSTRUCTED ARE: newline H0: There are no common plants described in Mand#257; Ci text and in local ethno-medicine practices for the treatments of Jvara, Atisand#257;ra and Pand#257;and#7751;and#7693;urog-Kand#257;maland#257; diseases. newline H1: There are some plants common in the text of Mand#257; Ci and in local ethno-medicine practices for the treatments of Jvara, Atisand#257;ra and Pand#257;and#7751;and#7693;urog-Kand#257;maland#257; diseases. newlineiii newline H0: Medicinal plants used in the preparation of treatment recipes for a select disease have no similarity in the botanical, physico-chemical and rasa/guand#7749;a/karma properties enabling these plants for the ther
