Abstract: The key objective of this study was to explore the relationship between extent of TQM newlineimplementation and Productivity in software development and maintenance component newlineof IT Industry. Additionally, this study examines the barriers to TQM implementation in newlinethe same industry. The TQM elements considered were Total Management Commitment newline(TMC), Customer Focus (CF), People Management (PM) and Continuous Improvement newline(CI). newlineThe sampling frame was considered as the list of IT companies at NASSCOM website. newlineThe questionnaire based on Likert scale was validated through Exploratory Factor newlineAnalysis (EFA) and CronBach alpha. Ranking scale was used to rank the barriers to TQM newlineimplementation. The number of correct responses received, was 141. T test, Multiple newline/Simple Linear Regression and Correlation techniques were applied, for data analysis and newlineto find out causal relation and association between TQM and Productivity. newline
