Abstract: | Connectivity of cach and every part of a country by road network creates fast developments. India being a vast country. the soil characteristics vary from place to place. With construction point of view. thorough understanding is essential for the successful execution and maintenance of civil engineering structures. Accurate determination of important soil properties newlineis required for the construction of structures like buildings. roads. airports. dams etc. Problem arises in the site when the available sub grade soil found to be soft clay i.e. expansive soil. Expansive soils generally called black cotton soil are residual soils with high plasticity newlinecharacteristics. In expansive soil. sub grade are subjected to heaving and cracking due to newlineseasonal mo isture variat ion causes difficulty in movement of vehicular traffic. newlineModernization requires electricity. Most of the electricity in India is generated by newlinethermal power plants. Thermal power plants produce large quantities of fly ash every year. Fly ash is the fine residue obtained from the thermal power stations using pulverized coal as boiler fuel which is generally discarded as a waste product. |
