Influence of Operational and Financial Performance of MFIs on Financial Inclusion in India

Abstract

The objectives of this chapter are: (a) to understand the concept of Micro-credit and newlinemicrofinance; (b) to find out the need for microfinance; (c) to examine the role of newlinemicrofinance in poverty alleviation (d) to study the evolution and growth of microfinance newlinemovement in India; (e) to study the International Scenario of Microfinance. Section 1.1 of newlinethis chapter defines the concept of microcredit and microfinance. Section 1.2 describes newlinethe need for microfinance and poverty alleviation.
