Abstract: | newline We are living in a digital age in which data or information is exchanged by using newlinecommunication techniques such as unicast, broadcast, multicast etc. Data newlinecommunication is the delivery of message from the source to the destination. In the case newlineof unicast, there is one source and one destination while in case of broadcast there is one newlinesource and a number of destinations. Multicast provides communication via one or newlinemany sources to a particular group which has various destinations. Broadcasting refers newlineto transmitting a message that will be received by every destination on the network. newlineThere are many applications such as military news feeds, web data, file sharing, online newlinegaming, videoconferencing, IPTV, Internet video etc. which use these communication newlinemethods. Quality of Services (QoS) requirement of an application puts extra burden on newlinenetwork. The parameters of QoS are reliability, jitter, bandwidth and delay. It means newlinethat ensuring quality of application will provide more reliable communication, less jitter newlinetime, more bandwidth utilization and less delivery time. The constraints of resource newlinesuch as heterogeneous load pattern, heterogeneous network (in terms of capacity, newlineprocessing speed and buffer), unreliable network and adversary environment create newlinemore overheads in the network. These constraints affects parameters such as packets newlineloss, delay and bandwidth which reduces the QoS of applications. However, the design newlineof good multicast QoS based reliable secure communication can reduce packet loss, newlinejitter and provide more reliability and security. The most video enabled applications are newlinehandled through multicast communication which is efficient than unicast and broadcast newlinecommunication. A multicast connection is bandwidth saving in nature. A multicast newlinemessage is sent to a multicast group; a group represents end-users network nodes. The newlinemulticast groups are dynamic and receiver-controlled, where a host can join or leave the newlinegroup at any time. This multicast group is managed by Internet Group Management newlineProtocol (IGMP) which is used between IP hosts and their immediate neighbor multicast newlineagents to support the creation of transient groups, the addition and deletion of members newlineof a group, and the periodic confirmation of group membership. IP hosts also use IGMP newlineto register their dynamic multicast group membership. |
