dc.description.abstractThe researcher conducted the research on the topic of Encountering Violence in newlineDomestic Life: A Study of Homemakers in Bhadrak District of Odisha . Firstly the researcher newlinetried to discuss what is violence, forms of violence, causes and consequences of violence, and newlinevarious social theories related to violence, despite this, especially how women face violence in newlinetheir own home on daily basis by near and dear ones, although men and women both are equal newlineaccording to our constitution, so why women especially suffer more than men? newlineViolence are many types, among all domestic violence is the crucial one, that is happened by newlinenear and dear ones in own family. Domestic violence is of many types, like, physical, emotional, newlinesexual, verbal, etc. Here the researcher also discussed various forms of domestic violence, causes newlineand consequences of domestic violence along with some theories related to it. newlineWomen constitute half of the society and they have proved themselves in every field of society, newlinestill women faces violence or tortured everywhere. They cannot receive same status, position, newlinefacilities with men. Due to patriarchy system, they neglected in their own home. Women newlinesacrifices their life for the sake of the family but in the opposite they receives tortured from newlineevery one. The role of women in especially in home is very crucial. It is said that every stage of newlinelife girls and women tortured. Many rules are implemented by the Govt. to protect girls and newlinewomen, but unfortunately some cases are unreported due many reasons. newline
