Abstract: The major objectives of the study were to analyze comparative advantage competitive advantage changing patterns of trade in textile and clothing across major country groups during 1995 to 2011 for macro level study To study the impact of quota liberalization and global economic crisis on hosiery exports from Tirupur in India for micro level study Comparative advantage competitiveness in textile and clothing trade were less in all the countries in all the stages Selected countries only textile trade has been mainly of intra industry type The implementation of quota liberalization and global economic crisis negatively influenced the hosiery exports from Tirupur newline
