Abstract: The thesis consists of six chapters of which Chapter-I contains newlinegeneral introduction to fluid mechanics, magnetohydrodynamics, basic newlineequations of MHD flow, various aspects of heat and mass transfer, chemical newlinereaction, radiation effect of heat transfer, flow through porous medium, flow newlineof elasto-viscous fluid, methods of solution, non-dimensional parameters newlineand application of MHD. newlineThe subsequent chapters are concentrated to the specific problems newlineinvestigated by the authors. Each chapter starts with an introduction briefly newlinesummarizing the previous works relevant to the problem followed by the newlineproposed work of the problem, the mathematical formulation of problem, newlinederivation of the governing equations with initial and boundary conditions, newlinemethod of solution results with discussion, reference and graphs. The newlinecomplicated flow equations are solved by perturbation, laplace transform newlinemethod and series method. The results are discussed with the help of graphs newlineand tables placed at the end of each chapter. The reference consists of books newlineand research papers referred in each chapter. newline
