Abstract: This thesis proposes to study the ecocritical elements in the poetry of Robert newlineFrost and Emily Dickinson. Ecocriticism is the study of literature and environment newlinefrom an interdisciplinary point of view where all sciences come together to analyze newlinethe environment and brainstorm possible solutions for the correction of the newlinecontemporary environmental situation. Eco criticism was officially heralded by the newlinepublication of two seminal works, both published in the mid-1990s: The Ecocriticism newlineReader, edited by Cheryll Glotfelty and Harold Fromm, and The Environmental newlineImagination, by Lawrence Buell. Ecocriticism investigates the relation between newlinehumans and the natural world in literature. This form of criticism has gained a lot of newlineattention during recent years due to higher social emphasis on environmental newlinedestruction and increased technology. The late twentieth century has woken up to a newlinenew threat: ecological disaster. newline
