Abstract: | Arising from Fry and Kriger s (2009) Theory of mind and many prior studies newlinewhich have investigated the development of spiritual intelligence among adolescents, newlinethe present research was carried out to examine the impact of gender and newlinesocioeconomic status on the development of Zohar s principles and King s attributes newlineof spiritual intelligence among adolescents and young adults. The objectives of the newlinestudy were proposed to examine the nature, rate, and critical period of development newlinefor each of Zohar s principles and King s attributes; role of gender and socioeconomic newlinestatus in the development of these principles and attributes; and finally, the interrelationships among these two popular models of spiritual intelligence. Following a newlinepurposive random sampling procedure, 480 college students from five different newlinecolleges of Odisha participated in the study which included 240 students each from newlinelow and high SES families. In fact, a 2(gender: boys and girls) X 2(SES: high and newlinelow) X 3(Age: 14-16, 18-20, and 22-24) factorial research design was used for the newlinestudy having 40 participants in each cell. Pareek s SES scale (Revised) was used to newlineclassify students into high and low SES groups. The Integrated Spiritual Intelligence newlineScale (ISI- Amramand Dryer, 2008) was used to measure the development of Zohar s newlineprinciples of spiritual intelligence and finally, King s SSRI-24 was used to measure newlinethe King s attributes of spiritual intelligence of the participants. newline newline |
