Abstract: Intra-space drug administration have recently gained popularity in the newlineclinical practice posing several advantages over the conventional routes of newlinedrug administration. A randomized clinical trial was conducted to compare newlinethe latency and duration of anesthesia with twin mix (1.8ml 2% lignocaine newlinewith 1:200,000 epinephrine and 1ml/4 mg dexamethasone) and modified newlinetwin mix (1.7ml of 4% articaine with 1:100,000 epinephrine and 1ml/4 mg newlinedexamethasone) and Dexmedetomidine(1 mcg of dexmedetomidine in 1 ml newlineof lidocaine) and clinical effects in the postoperative phase in patients newlineundergoing extraction of impacted mandibular third molars in terms of newlinepatients comfort post-surgery. newlineAIM newlineTo compare the latency and duration of anesthesia of twin mix (1.8ml 2% newlinelignocaine with 1:200,000 epinephrine and 1ml/4 mg dexamethasone) and newlinemodified twin mix (1.7ml of 4% articaine with 1:100,000 epinephrine and newline1ml/4 mg dexamethasone) and Dexmedetomidine(1 mcg of newlinedexmedetomidine in 1 ml of lidocaine) newlineMATERIALS AND METHODS newlineThe study was conducted among 75 patients with impacted mandibular newlinethird molars who were randomly allocated to three groups, Group A ,B and newlineC. Group A, patients were administered TM (Twin Mix). Group B patients newline15 OF 101 newlinewere given MTM (Modified Twin Mix). Group C was given newlineDexmedetomidine(1 mcg of dexmedetomidine in 1 ml of lidocaine). All the newlineprocedures were performed by a single operator. Various subjective and newlineobjective parameters were measured preoperatively and postoperatively to newlineassess the latency and efficacy of various anesthesia solutions used in this newlinestudy for third molar removal. newlineRESULTS newlineThe study consisted of 3 groups of which the primary outcome measured newlinewere latency and duration of action. The secondary outcomes were Pre op newline,Intra op,Post op Blood pressure and Heart rate. The data was analyzed newlineusing statistical package for windows [SPSS version 21, Armonk, IBM Corp. newlineUSA]. There was a significant difference in latency between the groups( newlinePlt0.05).
