dc.description.abstract | Deloitte Touche (2013) manufacturing competitiveness survey suggests that a firm s talent is most important. Among this talent, the firm manager or entrepreneur in SME is most important. Supporting this, many researchers (Collins 2001; Drucker 1954) have argued that leadership particularly in a firm s higher positions has a vital impact on firm performance and survival. Leaders bring together both individuals and organizations to enhance organizational performance (Ulrich and Smallwood 2013). Creating a culture of high performance depends on commitment at the highest levels of the organization which calls for leaders who are willing and able to serve simultaneously, as passionate value creators, people developers and business operators (Accenture 2008). newline | |
