Polyphosphazenes are the rare type of polymers with a backbone consisted of alternating newlinephosphorus and nitrogen atoms. They are highly versatile mainly due to the ease of alternation of newlinethe precursor polymer poly (dichlorophosphazene). The extremely reactive P-Cl bond in this newlineintermediate can be easily substituted by reaction with amines, alcohols and organometallic newlinereagents. Appropriate choice of the side groups allows control of the solubility, crystalline newlinebehaviour, surface characteristics, bioactivity and flame retardant. newlineThis thesis entitled Synthesis and Characterization of Polyphosphazene and its newlineNanocomposites for High-end Applications focuses on the synthesis of polyphosphazenes, its newlineblends with other polymers, and its nanocomposites to be utilized in thermal insulation, flame newlineretardant, plasticizer, high thermal stable formulations as high end applications. newlineThe subject matter of this thesis consisted of five chapters, namely, (1) Introduction (2) Literature newlineReview (3) Experimental (4) Results and discussion and (5) Conclusions. newline-
