Abstract

Increasing population and industrial as well as urban expansion, the production of newlinewastewater and its disposal on land and water bodies has grown rapidly. Hence, regular newlinemonitoring and stringent law enforcement is required to develop a strategy to manage the newlineenvironmental hazards due to wastewater pollution and to improve water quality of ground and newlinesurface water for aquatic ecosystems and disease-free human population, respectively. Keeping newlinein view the present study has been undertaken to assess the impact of urbanization and newlineindustrialization on ground water samples to assess the physio-chemical characteristics viz., newlineTemperature, PH, Eclectic Conductivity (E.C.), Turbidity, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Total newlineHardness (T.H), Calcium (Ca2+), Magnesium (Mg2+), Sodium (Na+) Potassium(K+), newlinefluoride(F ) Chemical oxygen Demand (COD), Nitrate (NO3 ) Phosphate (POand#8324;³and#8315;), Heavy newlinemetals- Iron (Fe), Zinc (Zn+2) Chromium (Cr+3), Manganese (Mn+2), Cadmium (Cd+2) of water newlinesamples collected from different regions of Dharmabad Tahsil Dist. Nanded, Maharashtra, newlineIndia. newlineMainly two types of rocks viz. Basalt and Granite are exposed in study area.
