Abstract: newlineHinguleshwar rasa is one of the important Herbo-mineral formulation in Ayurveda. Because of the need of purification and standardization of Ayurvedic formulation we did Analytical study, Sub acute toxicity and Efficacy study on Amavata of drug and formulation. newlineIn Analytical study ICP AES we found elemental changes in the Ashodhit, Shodhit Hingul and Hinguleshwar Rasa samples there was no significant element found in the Hinguleshwar Rasa. XRD study showed that the intensity of peak was increased but atomic structure was not changed in Shodhit Hingul and Hinguleshwar Rasa sample. HPTLC fingerprinting profile can be used as the diagnostic tool to identify and determine the quality of Hinguleshwar Rasa as well as this method can be used to check the batch to batch consistency. newlineFor the evaluating any toxic effect after internal administration of Hinguleshwar Rasa we carried out Sub Acute Toxicity (Single repeated dose) study. In Sub Acute Toxicity study Hematological parameters showed statistically non-significant changes in animals but according to the study of Biochemical parameters and histopathology reports of liver and heart we can conclude that five time of therapeutic dose of Hinguleshwar Rasa i.e. 30 mg/kg dose was might be safer than the 60 and 240 mg/kg dose respectively. In In vivo FCA induced Rheumatoid Arthritis (Amavata) study in rats Hinguleshwar Rasa statistically significantly reduce swelling in the paw of rats within 14 days and helped to prevent damage of joint. newlineFrom this study we can conclude that, Analytical study may be helpful for standardization of formulation, Sub acute toxicity study may be helpful to know the toxic dose of formulation and In vivo efficacy study may be helpful to know the efficacy of Hinguleshwar Rasa on Amavata [ Rheumatoid Arthritis(RA)].
