Abstract: The nature of the disorder, age, lifestyle practices and psychosocial newlinefactors are playing an important role in the management of diabetes. When newlinethe individual is willing to adopt the changes in lifestyle, they can effectively newlinemanage diabetes also. The prevalence of diabetes mellitus and mental health newlineproblems is increasing and availability of health care resources in developing newlinecountries is decreasing among type 2 diabetics. The common mental health newlineproblems of diabetics are stress, depression, anxiety, lack of knowledge about newlineself-care management. However, these mental health problems contribute to newlineincrease the medical morbidity and mortality rate and elevate the health care newlinecosts. Therefore, early screening, diagnosis and management are required to newlineimprove the quality of life of those suffering from diabetes. Following proper lifestyle practices and education by the health care professionals are useful to newlinereduce the worsening of diabetes. Health care professional have an important newlinerole in controlling, managing and preventing complications by motivating and newlinehelping the individual to take responsibilities. These help the individual to feel newlinesecure in making own decisions and modify their lifestyle towards their health. newlineFor the promotion of a positive mindset and create a feeling of wellbeing for newlinethe diabetics, meditation, prayer and other relaxation strategies are important. newlineMindfulness practice is a simple way of relating all experience that can reduce newlinesuffering and set the positive personal information. Mindfulness practice may newlineimprove the ability to tolerate the negative emotional state and cope with them newlineeffectively. Moreover, the extending help to the type 2 diabetics to learn about newlineMBSR techniques is cost effective with no side effects and would be helpful to newlinecontrol blood glucose level, blood pressure, body weight and reduce stress newlineand depression. The intervention is in-expensive and non-invasive that helps newlineto treat variety of health problems and provide quality care of people/patients newline
