Abstract: | In the recent digital world, all data is being kept in the digital platforms which results in require of huge storage space for storing the images and video and also requires a huge bandwidth for transmission. At that time a compressed data is very useful for storing more data. The scope of the research includes analyzing the diand#64256;erent compression techniques designed by various researchers and developed a new video compression method by using multiresolution techniques. First, compress the video using wavelet transform and diand#64256;erent encoding techniques. For doing transform we take EWT and it is fixed for all comparisons. The encoding techniques used here are H.264, Huand#64256;man, LZW, SPIHT and their combinations. With the help of various performance matrices combination of H.264 and modified SPIHT gives better performance. The SPIHT is modified to overcome the limitations of normal SPIHT. newlineSecond part, the encoding block is fixed and transform part is varying. For doing transform function, Biorthogonal Wavelet, Coiflet Wavelet, Demeyer Wavelet, Mexican Hat Wavelet, Dual Tree Wavelet, Dual Tree 3d Wavelet, Curvelet and Modified Dual Tree Wavelet are used. Out of these Modified Dual Tree Wavelet gives better performance and it overcomes the limitations of DTCWT. Modified SPIHT and modified dual tree transform is the research contribution and this combination shows better results in video coding compared to other techniques. newline newline |
