Abstract: | The main contention of this thesis is to explain and examine the paradigm of philosophy of newlinereligion of past and present. To me religion is sui-genesis to man. A man cannot survive newlinewithout religion. When there was no scientific development, men at that stage believed in newlinereligion. However, over the course of history and tradition the outlook and perspective of newlinereligion had changed radically. Primitive men in the past were believed religion simply on the newlinebasis of superstition, myths. The concepts of Tabu, Mana, Herbert Ghost theory, magic are newlinecases in point. Men in the past believed that even a stone had life. It was called stone-age. newlineThe attitude of men towards religion changed a lot with the advent of science and technology. newlineBefore the second half of sixteenth century it was called the dark age of philosophy because newlineat that time there was speculation in philosophy. From the second half of sixteenth century newlinephilosophy entered into enlightened period where philosophers questioned about the newlinefoundation of religion. As a result of that there we noticed so many religious conflicts, i.e., newlinethe conflict between science and religion. During this period philosophers were talking of newlinenational religion and subsequently we have the concept of universal religion. In fact the newlinescope of the philosophy of religion has been vastly enlarged mainly as a result of the long newlineoverdue recognition of the radical diversity of religions.
