dc.description.abstractAdolescence is a pivotal stage of the life cycle and provides a unique opportunity to foster a healthy transition from childhood to adulthood. Comprehensive approaches could be successful in reducing the prevalence of anaemia among the vulnerable population. Many research findings reported that integrated approach of iron with nutritional intervention effectively improved the iron status among the populations of various age groups like the innovative approaches inspired by traditional knowledge like ayurveda. An ancient system of Indian medicine has recommended a number of drugs from indigenous plant source for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia.The aim was to evaluate the effectiveness of nutritional support therapy on the level of hemoglobin, vitamin C, iron, physical work capacity and intelligence among adolescent girls (2) to correlate hemoglobin, vitamin C and Iron with physical work capacity and intelligence among the adolescent girls with iron deficiency anemia.In conclusion, this study revealed that adolescent girls who are at risk for iron deficiency anemia were benefited from the intake of nutritional support therapy regularly. The iron deficiency anemia has an impact on level of physical work capacity and intelligence. The nutritional support therapy rich with iron and vitamin C for three months showed an increase in the level of haemoglobin vitamin C, iron and improving the BMI after the intervention. Similarly, it has the beneficial effects in positively changing physical work capacity and intelligence among adolescent girls with iron deficiency anemia. Over all study resulted in highly significant improvement in all parameters than other conventional treatment in reducing iron deficiency anemia among adolescent girls. newline
