dc.description.abstract | The blossoming of adolescence in each generation is as fascinating a newlinesight as the unfolding offspring each year predictable and repetitive. Adolescents newlinebelong to vital age group, not only because they are the entrant population to newlineparenthood but also because they are in the threshold between childhood and newlineadulthood. As they attempt to cross this stage they face various physiological, newlinepsychological and developmental changes. newline The word adolescent ultimately comes from the Latin word adolescere newlinemeaning to grow up . Adolescence is a period of relatively good health inspite newlineof the stresses and storms of rapid physical growth, physiological changes, newlinesexual and emotional growth and developments. newline The aim of this study was to teach yoga to the adolescent girls which is newlineone of the alternative therapies for managing primary dysmenorrhea and analyse newlinethe effectiveness of yoga on primary dysmenorrhea newlineThe results of the study showed that the effectiveness of selected yoga for newlinemanagement of primary dysmenorrhea in school girls. The study findings newlinerevealed that reduction of pain score and reduction of associated factors of newlinedysmenorrhea score after the yoga training programme in study group. newline newline Yoga improves the physical and mental health of adolescents. Yoga newlinereduces the symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, headache etc and enables the newlineadolescents to do normal activity without any disruptions. Yoga also decreases newlinethe school absenteeism and improves class concentration. newline | |
