Title: A Study of Leader Member Relation and Emotional Intelligence in Relation to Readiness to Change Among Middle Management Personnel in Automobile Sector

Abstract: The objective of the present study was to study the relations among emotional newlineintelligence, leader member relation and readiness to change of employees engaged in the newlineautomobile sector and the mediating effect of leader member relation on the relationship newlinebetween emotional intelligence and readiness to change. A questionnaire survey was carried newlineout to find these relationships. The study was conducted on 342 male employees engaged in newlinethe automobile sector. Emotional intelligence was found to be significantly and positively newlinerelated to leader member relation and readiness to change. The relation between leader newlinemember relation and readiness to change was also found to be significant and positive. newlineMultiple regression analysis was used to test the mediating effect of Leader member relation newlinebetween Emotional Intelligence and Readiness to Change. Results indicated that emotional newlineintelligence was a significant predictor of LMX and LMX was also found to be a significant newlinepredictor of Readiness to Change. It was found that leader member exchange fully mediated newlinethe relationship between Emotional Intelligence and Readiness to Change. The predictors newlineexplained 28% of the variance in readiness to change. The study concludes that subordinates newlinewho with high quality LMX relation and benefits from their leaders are ready to accept newlinechange. High quality LMX relation during change implementation can have very good newlineimpact on readiness to change of employees. Emotional Intelligence through LMX could newlinepromote readiness to change of the employees. The other findings of the study in reference newlineto the objective of the study are also discussed. newline
