Abstract

This thesis entitled SOME RESULTS ON EDGE SEMIENTIRE newlineBLOCK GRAPHS is in the field of Graph Theory in Mathematics, newlinewhich is one of the ever growing branches of Mathematics. newlineHistorically, graph theory has been developed as a mathematical newlinediscipline. Graph theory because of its simplicity, has a wide range of newlineapplication in engineering, physical science, social science, biological newlinescience and computer science, etc. With the advent of computers, many newlinegraph theory problems are being solved using high speed computers. Such newlinecomputers will have a system consisting of many processors and newlinememories. An essential component of these computers is the newlineinterconnection network, which provides communication between the newlineprocessor and the memories of the system. Interconnection network is newlinegenerally modelled by graphs. A directed graph means that newlinecommunication is one way, otherwise the graph is undirected. Graph newlinetheory is a fascinating subject involving only two elements-vertices or newlinepoints and edges or lines. Its origin is as diverse as its applications. One of newlinethe most appealing features of graph theory lies in the geometric or newlinepictorial aspect of the subject. Given a graph G consisting of vertices and newlineedges, diagrammatically each vertex is represented by a point in the plane newlineand each edge by a line segment joining appropriate distinguished vertices. newline newline
