Abstract: newline Training and Human Resources Development is one of the key aspects of the newlinestrategic performance management. Training is the focal element of human newlinedevelopment function of any organization. It strengthens employees knowledge and newlineskill to perform their jobs effectively. Training may be regarded as structured learning newlineexperience. HRD concentrates on improvement of all necessary skills required by the newlineemployees of an organization to be effective. In this research study, attempt has been newlinemade to evaluate the effectiveness of training and development in police personnel newlinemanagement. newlineThe scope of the study covers 300 police personnel of the Government of newlineOdisha, India. A well-structured questionnaire was developed to collect primary data newlinefrom 3 (Three) different categories of police personnel, such as, Constabulary, Middle newlinelevel and Senior level officers. The study focused on 21 dimensions of performance of newlinepolice personnel before training as well as after training. In this study, 6 (six) aspects of newlinetraining impacts such as, skill and behavior of employees, attitude and skill newlinedevelopment of employees, effectiveness of training, assessment of perception of newlineemployees, benefits of training and overall results of training and development have newlinebeen critically analysed. newlineThe primary objectives of the study are as follows: newline1. To study the impacts of training and management development activities on the job newlineattitudes among police personnel. newline2. To understand the perception of different categories of police personnel about the newlineeffectiveness of training and development in police organization. newline3. To evaluate the relationship between the existing methods of training, development newlineand infrastructure, employee motivation, job satisfaction and professional expertise newlinein the organization. newline4.
