Majority (79.5 %) of the nurses in the present study showed positive reinforcement from work profile . Predictors of Compassion satisfaction were: self-efficacy in nurses with (2-4) years of experience; depression and fantasy seeking in nurses with (6-8) years of experience. Predictors of Burnout were: perspective taking, hostility and self-efficacy in nurses with (2-4) years of experience; depression, self-efficacy, empathic concern, verbal aggression and social withdrawal in nurses with (6-8) years of experience. Predictors newlineof Secondary traumatic stress were: fantasy seeking and hostility in nurses with (2-4) years of experience; social withdrawal, personal distress and depression in nurses with (6-8) years of experience. The results of the study show that nurses with less years of work experience need more psychological attention as they were found to be significantly higher on personal distress, anger, depression, anxiety and lower on compassion satisfaction, perspective taking empathy and social contact coping than nurses with more years of experience. This study is a comprehensive research effort to understand the role of certain psychological factors which impact the professional quality of life of nurses working in the private hospitals. newline newline newline newline
