Exogenous bridging group controlled biomimetic metal complexes and their applications

Abstract

The ligand N1,N2-bis(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)oxalamide, has been used to synthesize a tetranuclear Zn(II) complex which is used for catalytic conversion CO2. This ligand was also used to produce mono to multinuclear Cu(II) and Co(II) complexes by varying reaction conditions and their catalytic properties were also studied. Two Zn(II) complexes (di andhexanuclear) have been synthesized using N2,N6-bis(benzo[d]thiazol-2-yl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide, changing the reaction temeperature and their fluorescence properties were investigated. By varying exogenous bridging groups, family of Cu(II) complexes (mono, tri andhexanuclear) was created and studied for catechol oxidation. Ligand, 6-(benzo[d]thiazol-2-ylcarbamoyl)picolinic acid was used for the synthesis of a tetranuclear Cu(II) complex with azide bridging and also explored for catechol oxidation study. newline
